Wet and dry races on Sunday gave plenty of spectacular FIA European Truck Racing Championship action in front of a large crowd at the Le Mans Bugatti circuit in France.

Adam Lacko revelled in wet conditions earlier in the day to score a dominant win in his Buggyra Racing Freightliner, while Sascha Lenz took an equally conclusive victory in the final race.

SL Trucksport30 driver Lenz claimed his third victory of the season leading home recently crowned 2019 FIA ETRC champion Jochen Hahn and Team Schwabentruck IVECO’s Steffi Halm.

Race 3

Adam Lacko celebrated his second victory of the 2019 FIA European Truck Racing Championship season after a masterful display in wet conditions at Le Mans Bugatti this afternoon.

The Buggyra Racing driver completely controlled the 11-lap race three event and led from lights-to-flag to claim the maximum points score of 20-points.

Lacko led away after the wet start procedure was employed which saw the field file down to the first chicane in single file.

The Czech ace was instantly able to open up a gap and cruised home to win by a margin of 5.5s at the chequered flag.

While Lacko was home alone at the front, the battle for the runners-up position saw plenty of close racing in the early exchanges as Andre Kurim defended the position from Antonio Albacete and Norbert Kiss.

While Truck Sport Lutz Bernau driver Albacete made a clean move in to second, Kiss fared less well and contact between the Hungarian and his former teammate Kursim saw the Tankpool24 Racing driver heading down the escape road at the final corner.

Race 4

Sascha Lenz stormed to his third victory of the 2019 FIA European Truck Racing Championship season in the final race of the weekend at Le Mans Bugatti.

The SL Trucksport30 driver made a decisive move on first Steffi Halm’s Team Schwabentruck IVECO and then pole sitter Jamie Anderson to assert his authority on the 11-lap race.

Lenz won the race by 10.1 seconds and underlined his fine form at Le Mans Bugatti, a circuit where he took his first pole position back in 2017.

Behind Lenz, a race long battle raged between Halm and Jochen Hahn. This was eventually settled when the newly crowned champion made a move at the first chicane stick on lap five.

It was however too late for Hahn to make a late challenge on Lenz despite his best efforts to get on terms with his countryman.

Halm claimed her second podium of the weekend in third but behind here came a fierce battle for fourth position. This was between race two winner Andre Kursim (Don’t Touch Racing IVECO), Antonio Albacete (Truck Sport Lutz Bernau) and race three victor Adam Lacko (Buggyra Racing).

The trio ran nose-to-tail for much of the second phase of the race but there were no changes to the order despite the close racing.
