Demonstrating its strength in the UK recovery sector, Isuzu Truck (UK) Ltd entered one of its successful Isuzu N75.190 ‘Forward’ Euro VI rigids, fitted with an industry-leading recovery body, at this year’s annual historic ‘Cart Marking’ ceremony in the City of London. Cart Marking is a multi-vehicle parade and vehicle drive-past, in the presence of the Rt Hon Mayor of London, the Sheriff of London and other city officers.

According to Keith Child, marketing director at Isuzu Truck UK; “The Cart Marking ceremony is a prestigious annual event within the City of London’s calendar and Isuzu Truck is a long term supporter of the event. Once again we have played an active role in the pleasurable, day-long proceedings.”

In the livery of loyal, Hatfield-based customer Recovery World, the Isuzu rigid truck taking part in the Cart Marking ceremony is one of the most popular models in Isuzu’s 2015 Euro VI product portfolio.

“The Isuzu ‘Forward’ N75.190 7.5 tonne rigid is the proven popular choice amongst the many recovery operators that we do business with. Every year at Cart Marking we try to demonstrate the vast array of body types fitted to our vehicles. In past events, we have entered trucks with refrigerated bodies, as well as electric trucks for example, but this year we decided to highlight the success of our truck range within the recovery sector.”

A second Isuzu truck was also featured in this year’s Cart Marking event, although this one was presented by body-builder Paneltex . The vehicle was an all-electric 7.5 tonne urban delivery vehicle powered by the ZEROED high profile, zero/low carbon energy engine. This insulated/refrigerated truck represented the latest technology design in all-electric powered commercials, complete with a ‘tuck under’ tail-lift to facilitate easy loading and unloading.

The Cart Marking ceremony at the Guildhall in London is a time-honoured tradition, maintained by the Worshipful Company of Carmen. Selected vehicles, representing the history of transport, are branded with a red-hot iron on a wooden plaque. Each plaque carries a unique vehicle number and the Carmen Arms. The ceremony acts as a reminder of centuries of service by transport organisations to the City of London.
